What is EatWild® and what makes it different to other food apps?
The EatWild app is a unique meal planning app because it runs from a database of edible wild plants and foraged foods that includes their nutritional data. Our experts have put 20 years of research into establishing this database. Other meal planners only track the nutrient values of farmed and processed foods. Other foraging apps just help you identify things to pick and eat. The EatWild app enables you to track your foraged ingredients, eat them on their own, or mix them with farmed and supermarket produce, and still have an accurate record of the calories and macronutrients that you eat. In addition, it offers a wealth of foraging, seasonal and wild food preparation guides.
Do I need an account to use the app and what are the costs?
Yes, an account is required to access the full features of the EatWild® app. We offer a 7-day free trial, allowing you to explore the app before committing to a subscription. After the trial, you can choose a subscription plan that best suits your needs:
  • £9.99 per month – Flexible, pay-as-you-go access
  • £26.99 per three months – Save on a quarterly plan
  • £99.99 per year – Best value for long-term foragers

How do I download the app?

Are the recipes difficult? I'm a beginner.
If you're new to cooking with wild ingredients, don't worry - we’ve got you covered! With our extensive collection of wild and wild-fusion recipes, all carefully crafted and tested by professional foragers and chefs, you'll have a wealth of culinary inspiration and expertise at your fingertips. Our easy-to-follow recipes range from simple dishes that incorporate a touch of wild ingredients to fully wild meals, making it easier than ever to bring nutritious, flavourful wild foods into your everyday meals. Start exploring and get ready to enjoy the vibrant world of wild cooking!
Are there recipes to suit different dietary preferences and eating styles?
We have a huge variety of recipes that cater to different dietary needs and eating styles: omnivore, paleo, keto, fully wild, semi-wild (wild-fusion), pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan. To refine your recipe search to suit your needs, simply click on 'Recipes' on the bottom menu then use the search bar to add or exclude criteria then 'Show Recipes'. Bare in mind, many of our fully wild dishes include some sort of animal based protein, however we try as much as possible to provide vegetarian and vegan friendly options. So please do open up the recipe for more information and dish tweaks and recommendations.
Can I save my favourite recipes?
Yes of course! You can save your favourite curated recipes by clicking the 'heart' symbol to bookmark them. To find them and cook them later, simply go to the bottom menu and click 'More', then 'Collections' and 'My Favourites'.
How do I find seasonal recipes?
To find seasonal recipes for inspiration, simply go to the bottom menu and click 'More', then 'Collections' and choose from one of our seasonal plans: Wild Spring, Wild Summer, Wild Autumn and Wild Winter. For each plan you will find breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert options. You can also find them by clicking 'Recipes' from the bottom menu to scroll through our whole database or use the search bar to refine your search.
Can I create and save my own recipes?
Absolutely! To create your own recipe, first visit the 'Planner' from the bottom menu. You can then select 'Add new' on your meals that day, then select 'Add meal'. This will then take you to the 'Recipes' section where you get the option to 'Create new recipe', click this. You can then personalise the recipe details with a photo of the dish, give your dish a name, add a description or notes, add the ingredients and add your method. You can also leave sections blank if you prefer to only list the ingredients for that dish, or simply name the recipe card today's date if that's what you're eating that day. You can then save this to your favourites. If you can't find an ingredient, you should see a drop down menu that offers alternative wild ingredients that are available in our database.

📅 Meal Planning

How do I plan meals?
With the Planner you can plan meals as far in advance as you wish. You can choose meals from our library of curated wild recipes or add your own recipes with wild ingredients you have foraged. All of our recipes provide nutritional content, macronutrients, and calories to help you monitor and support your health needs and nutritional requirements.

🌿 Wild Ingredient Tracking

Can I log a wild ingredient I found?
Yes! You can log wild ingredients you have found while foraging using our unique wild ingredient database that has over 500 plants, herbs, game meats, algae, fungi and seafoods. Our database is constantly growing. If you log an ingredient that we do not have, our app will still allow you to enter it but it will not provide nutritional content. Please feel free to contact us and let us know of any ingredients you think we should add and we can find and add it's nutritional properties.

How do I get help with technical issues?
If you're experiencing technical difficulties, please reach out to our support team by visiting Contact Us.
How do I cancel my subscription or delete my account?
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your account settings in the App Store or Google Play. We recommend doing this before deleting your account. To manage your information, or to delete your account, please go to the account information section within ‘My Profile’ in the app or contact us directly at Contact Us. Deleting your account will erase all of your information, recipes and meal history, even if you resubscribe later.
