Matthew Rooney brings over 25 years of ecological expertise to EatWild. With a BSc (Hons) in Ecology, Matthew has dedicated his career to promoting biodiversity through fungi and sustainable land management.

As co-founder of the UK’s first biodynamic, organic-certified mushroom farm, Matthew has led groundbreaking initiatives in mycoremediation and environmental restoration.

Matthew’s Superpowers:

• Leading ecological surveys to enhance biodiversity.
• Harnessing fungi to restore land and waterways through innovative techniques.
• Teaching the art of mushroom farming, plant and fungi identification, and wild foraging.

Matthew is also a valued contributor to the EatWild community, sharing his deep knowledge of fungi and nature-based solutions for a more sustainable future.

He is a Member of the British Mycological Society and the Association of Foragers.
